Christmas isn’t even here yet and major luxe brand deals are already available! If you read our previous post about seasonal sales, you already know that January is our favorite month to find major discounts on the luxe brands we love. There’s a bit of context that’s worth noting so you don’t miss out on deals or get stuck with items you don’t love.
Timing Is Everything!
The timing varies by brand and retailer, but the discounts generally start right after Christmas. Nordstrom is famous for its sale which starts the day after Christmas. Coveted items tend to move quickly, and most sizes and styles are gone by the second week in January. After that it’ll be pure luck.
Watch Out for Final Sales!
Also, retailers want to clear out inventory so watch out for items listed as “Final Sale,” as that means they cannot be returned. Retailers hold firm on this policy so don’t assume they will accommodate return requests. If you always wear the same size in a brand then you can generally buy with confidence. Otherwise, be careful when looking at brands you haven’t experienced prior. If possible, visit the stores to try things on. The stores will also have additional items on sale that may not be featured online.
Here’s our team’s shopping plan for late December/January in no particular order:
Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue have major end of year sales. Discounts can run up to 75% off and are a great source of luxe brand deals. Again, if you’re near a store, pay them a visit. Merchandise selection will be different than online.
Bergdorf Goodman – The shoe floor in New York City is a must visit for the major clearance sale!
Saks Fifth Avenue – Both online and in store in New York City.
AG Jeans – The semi-annual sale has started with discounts up to 50%.
Alice & Olivia – The Holiday Sale has started with discounts of up to 80%!
Aquazzura – The sale has already started! Discounts start at 40% off and will move to 50% prior to ending. Sizes are limited. Move fast.
Ferragamo – The Fall Winter sale has started. We are seeing discounts of up to 50% on a wide selection of apparel, handbags and footwear.
Gianvito Rossi – The Fall Winter sale has started. We are seeing discounts of 40%.
Helmet Lang – The End of Season sale has started with discounts of up to 60%! Also, check out SaksFifthAvenue.com
Hugo Boss – The sale has started and the selection has over 1,000 items! Discounts are generally 55-65% with additional discounts if you sign up for texts or emails.
Jimmy Choo – The sale has already started! Discounts are 50%, which is more generous than the typical 40%. Sizes are limited. Move fast. Visit the stores; They will have additional clearance items at substantial discounts.
L’Agence – The sale has started. Discounts are good at 40%. At some point L’Agence typically does an EXTRA 30% all sale styles. Be on the lookout and move fast. Sizes will be limited.
Louis Vuitton – New flagship in New York City!
Lululemon – we do buy fitness and loungewear! ;-)
Manolo Blahnik – The sale has already started! Discounts are 50% which is more generous than the typical 40%. Sizes are limited. Move fast.
Mulberry – The sale has started. Most discounts are 30% off of select styles.
Peter Millar – The sale has not started at the time of posting. Last year, one of our team members scored a $1500 blazer for under $400 in their New York City store. Similar discount will be briefly available online.
Rag & Bone – The sale has started and is offering an EXTRA 30% off of all sale styles.
Santoni – The sale has started and is offering 30% off of select styles.
Theory – You can find significant discounts online and at all retailers that carry Theory. Click here for details.
