The Dress: L’Agence Florian Tweed Mini Dress

At Luxe Brand Deals, we are big fans of L’Agence and their effortlessly stylish designs. One of our team members is a big fan of the brand and was looking for a new dress. She’s petite so this mini dress will hit just above the knee and, therefore, offer a lot of versatility from work appropriate to cocktail hour or a nicer dinner.
Knowing that L’Agence items can often be found at significant discounts it was time for our associate to find the best deal possible. In the meantime, she had some research to do and decisions to make:
What retailers carry the brand?
What retailers carry the specific dress?
Which colors does she want and not want?
Step 1 – Review our Luxe Deal Finder to see what retailers carry L’Agence. It is the easiest source to figure out which retailers to visit and which ones don’t carry the brand.
The result: There are at least 13 retailers including Lagence.com that carry the brand. Retailers that can be ruled out – 6pm, Gilt, MyTheresa, and Rue La La. (Note: Occasionally, Gilt and Rue La La will carry L’Agence, but at the time of our research neither site carried the brand.)
Step 2 – Now she had to dig deeper to find out which ones carry the desired style. It seems daunting to check out every retailer, but with our list narrowed to just the retailers that carry L’Agence, she just needed to click the links from the L’Agence results page which took her directly to the L’Agence brand page for each retailer.
She knows the name of the dress is Florian, which made a quick search at each of the retailers that carry the brand very easy. It’s not a completely foolproof method when shopping off-price retailers, as they do not always do a great job listing products by the style name assigned by the brand. Alternatively, she can filter for dresses and scan the results. Both methods are very easy.
A run through the retailers that carry L’Agence yielded the following results.
Six retailers carry the L’Agence Florian dress – Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Saks Fifth Avenue, Shop Premium Outlets and Lagence.com.
Other retailers carry the brand, but not the dress she wanted.
Bloomingdale’s – Carries the dress in one color:
Midnight/Mustard Plaid – Desired color and size is available for $242.55, a 51% discount!
Nordstrom – Carries the dress in two colors:
Red/Pink Multi Tweed – Desired color NOT available and the price is $371.25, only a 25% discount
Black/Black Rose – Desired size is available, but it is at the full price of $450 (this color had a lower list price)
Nordstrom Rack – Carries the dress in one color:
Tan/Dusty Pink/Blue – Desired color and size NOT available, which is too bad because it is only $149.97, a whopping 70% discount!
Saks Fifth Avenue – Carries the dress in one color:
Midnight/Mustard Plaid – Desired color and size is available for $297, a 40% discount. Not bad, but not as good as Bloomingdale’s.
Shop Premium Outlets – Carries the dress in one color:
Black/Black Rose – Desired color and size is available for $281, a 37% discount. However, this item is a final sale, which means it cannot be returned. In addition, it is sold by a third party that we are not familiar with.
Lagence.com – Carries the dress in three colors:
Black/Black Rose – Desired size is available, but it is at full price for $450
Red/Pink Multi Tweed – Desired size NOT available and the price is $346.50, only a 30% discount
Midnight/Mustard Plaid – Desired size is available for $346.50, only a 30% discount
Step 3 – Decide which retailer has the dress in her size, preferred color at the best discount and pull the trigger!
The good news is her decision was easy. Bloomingdale’s had the color she preferred (Midnight/Mustard Plaid), in the desired size and at the biggest discount. Nordstrom Rack did have the dress at a bigger discount, but it was not in the size needed or the color desired. Still, we have noted the low price and, going forward, we will be sure to check Nordstrom Rack for L’Agence items.
Getting this dress at a 51% discount took her less than 30 minutes of shopping time.

Sale price = $242.55
Percent savings = 51%
Total savings = $252.45
